A 79-year-old man died at Castle Medical Center yesterday after being found in a muddy ditch in Kane'ohe.

Raymond Kauhane, who suffered from dementia, had not been seen since 2:30 p.m. Sunday in He'eia until he was found at 3:15 p.m. yesterday. Police said a witness called after hearing a man's voice in the ditch.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office deferred listing cause and manner of death pending laboratory tests.
