Union contracts

On Wednesday Gov. Linda Lingle, faced with continued union opposition, decided to forge ahead with her furlough plan, issuing an executive order to carry it out. The current debate in the community is whether furloughs are the most acceptable option, or whether lawmakers should convene a special session to raise taxes, draw revenue from a special fund or find some other solution to the union contract standoff with the state administration. Such a solution would require a special legislative session. What do you think?
