AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PLANNERS

Ralph Portmore, urban and regional planner with Group 70 International Inc., has been inducted as a Fellow with the American Institute of Certified Planners.

As a public agency planner for the City and County of Honolulu, he aided in establishing the framework for effective development policies that shaped Hawai'i's economic future.

He was a team member partly responsible for planning the City of Kapolei, Waikiki Outrigger Beachwalk and Hanauma Bay.

HAWAIIAN AIRLINES

Hawaiian Airlines has appointed Blaine Miyasato vice president of product development. A 25-year veteran of the firm, he will be the strategic point man regarding marketing, advertising, promotions, brand management and customer products offered inflight and at airports. He will continue as principal liaison with the state of Hawai'i for airport development.

JW MARRIOTT IHILA-NI RESORT & SPA

Geri Marino has been hired as director of event management at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina.

She has more than 20 years of hospitality experience, nine of them with Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

Also hired was Raymond Donato as catering sales manager. The former food and beverage manager and banquet server has extensive experience attending to the needs of wedding parties and their guests.

HAWAIIAN PROPERTIES LTD.

Hawaiian Properties Ltd. real estate management company has hired John Jepsen Jr. as senior property manager and vice president-condominium division. He will be responsible for managing large properties such as the Hawaii Kai Marina Community Association and The Tropics at Waikele.

He was previously with Certified Management, Inc.

BELLA PIETRA

Bella Pietra has hired Kareem Lamb as operations manager. Lamb will aid in overseeing the daily operations of the firm and have direct oversight over warehouse operations. He has more than 14 years of experience in transportation, purchasing and inventory control.

HELBER HASTERT & FEE INC.

Ronald Sato and Tara DePonte have joined Helber Hastert & Fee Inc., as planners.

Sato is a senior planner working on projects that include environmental compliance, entitlements and land use permitting.

DePonte's professional background includes work as a planner and landscape architect on large-scale residential and resort developments.

AQUA HOTELS & RESORTS

Aqua Hotels & Resorts has retained Jernell Mendonca as general manager and hired Luana Kekaula-Castillo as sales manager of the Maile Sky Court, which it assumed management of in December 2009.

Mendonca has been general manager of the Maile Sky Court since July 2008.

Kekaula-Castillo has held sales management positions with various local hotels.

GRAHAM BUILDERS

Graham Builders has hired Caryn Lau as the new director of sales and marketing. She consults with clients during the initial planning stages of home-project development and manages customer service relations.

Also hired was Lucas Urtiaga as a finish carpenter. He has more than seven years of experience in the carpentry industry.

HAWAII NATIONAL BANK

Hawaii National Bank has hired Gregg Hirata as vice president and Neighbor Island regional manager. He has more than 20 years of accounting and financial experience.

PARKER SCHOOL

Parker School has hired Jon Vedelli as business manager for the 2010-2011 school year. He is a wealth adviser and private client services representative with Bank of Hawaii.

AHAHUI MALAMA I KA LOKAHI

Charles Isaacs Jr. has been elected co-president of 'Ahahui Malama i ka Lokahi. He is a project engineer with Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company.

Terry Yasuko Ogawa has been elected board secretary.

The organization is devoted to the preservation of native species and ecosystems.
