McCully man arrested following alleged gun threat

Advertiser Staff

A 22-year-old McCully man was arrested last night after he allegedly threatened to kill three men, a woman and a 15-year-old boy.

Police said the suspect and the others were attending a social gathering about 8 p.m. when an argument broke out.

Several people at the gathering told police the suspect said he had a gun and that he was going to shoot them all, and then began to reach into his backpack.

At that point, the others who were present were able to grab the suspect and detain him until officers arrived on the scene, police said.

The suspect received minor injuries during the scuffle. He was treated and released at a nearby hospital and was then arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Police are awaiting court approval to search the suspect's backpack.
