Two injured in H-1 Freeway crash

Advertiser Staff

Two people were injured, one critically, in a single car crash this afternoon on the H-1 Freeway in Ewa.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the H-1 just past the North/South Road onramp. Police said the driver of a vehicle lost control and it rolled over and then caught fire.

A man, who appears to be in his 30s, was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department. A woman, who also appears to be in her 30s, was taken to a trauma center in serious condition, Cheplic said.

Police have closed all eastbound lanes of the H-1 and routed traffic to North/South Road. The North/South onramp to the H-1 Freeway also is closed.
