New UH Maui College graduates 170 students

Graduates of the University of Hawai‘i Maui College accepted their degrees and certificates yesterday.

An estimated 170 students graduated from the newly renamed University of Hawaii Maui College yesterday during ceremonies at the Castle Theater/Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

UH regents in February renamed Maui Community College, which this semester saw record enrollment of 4,078 students — a 23.2 percent increase over the spring 2009 semester.

Degrees were awarded in the following areas of study:

• Bachelor's of Applied Science in Applied Business and Information Technology – 10

• Associate of Arts – 135

• Associate of Science - 68

• Associate of Applied Science – 96

• Academic Subject Certificate – 17

• Certificate of Achievement – 143

• Certificate of Completion – 66
