Cirque du Culture, the fashion show that takes place during the Chic in the City benefit for breast cancer research, is shaping up to be quite THE fashion show. Coordinator Sierra Dew is pulling together a team of artists, designers, models and photographers to put on a show that Dew describes as "Honolulu meets Broadway meets contemporary French circus culture."

Special guest model will be Anya Rozova, a local girl who was the runner-up in "America's Next Top Model." She has returned from months of modeling around the world and will make her Honolulu modeling debut at Cirque du Culture. (More about her next week in Island Life.)

The show will be punctuated with performances by vocalist/dancer Willow Chang and spoken word artist Bridget Gray.

The designers, who are creating collections for the show, are: Erin Ludolph Robinson, Suzanna Kuhlemann, Doug Jago, Micah Iaukea, Jodi Salmonson and Dew.

Chic in the City begins at 7 p.m. May 28, in the Dole Ballrooms, followed by a private viewing of "Sex and the City 2" for partygoers. To purchase tickets (presale tickets are $65 and include pūpū, cocktails, the fashion show, the silent auction and the movie), go to www.dreamonhi.com.

FOR YOUR GRAD, A LITTLE POMP AND PALAKA CIRCUMSTANCE

Graduation season is upon us and what better way to make it memorable, and lasting, than with a "lei-n-yard," or embellished lanyard, featuring a palaka fortune cookie in the grad's school colors ($15)? There's an added benefit: You can tuck a little ó or a lot ó of graduation money into the mouth of the cookie.

The clever "cookies" can also be purchased separately in a little favor box ($8) to give as a gift or use as a party or wedding favor.

Sold exclusively at Wabi-Sabi, 1223 Koko Head Avenue, Suite 5; or call 734-3693.
