Man assaulted in Waipahu parking lot

A man in his 40s, was found unresponsive in a grocery store parking lot early this morning, possibly the target of a robbery, officials said.

The man, who appeared to be in his 40s, was allegedly assaulted by two people in the parking lot at Times Waipahu, said Bryan Cheplic, city Department of Emergency Services spokesman. The 1:55 p.m. incident left the man in critical condition.

Witnesses saw two men running from the man, who is a cab driver and is believe to have been the target of a robbery, running toward Waipahu Depot Road, police said. No arrests have been made.
