Parnaby, Rainbow Wahine shut out No. 13 California, 3-0

Advertiser Staff

Kaia Parnaby pitched a two-hitter and Kelly Majam hit a bases-empty homer to lift Hawai‘i to a 3-0 victory over 13th-ranked California tonight in the Chevron Spring Fling Tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

The Rainbow Wahine are 21-10. California is 21-6.
It was a different story from Thursday when Cal pitcher Valerie Arioto struck out 17 in a 5-0 victory over Hawai‘i.
Yesterday, Parnaby struck out 12, including Arioto with two runners on, to end the game in the seventh.
Majam hit a homer to center field to start the game. UH also scored on Katie Grimes’ RBI single in the fifth and on a passed ball that allowed Brynne Buchanan to score in the sixth.
Hawai‘i plays Lipscomb and Cal tomorrow.
