A high-surf advisory is in effect for north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and north-facing shores on Oahu, Molokai and Maui.

The National Weather Service advisory remains in effect until 6 tonight. Waves are expected to be in the 15- to 20-foot range.
Meanwhile, it will be a typical tradewind day — partly sunny, with scattered windward and mountain showers and isolated leeward showers, highs between 76 to 81 degrees, and trades at 15 mph to 20 mph.
The weather service says breezy trades are expected to continue through the weekend. The winds will focus clouds and showers over windward and mountain areas.
