Honolulu firefighters last night extinguished two brushfires on Kaukonahua Road below Kamananui Road and Poamoho Street in Wahiawā.

The first brush fire was reported at 5:02 p.m. last night above Poamoho Street near the road. Firefighters had it out five minutes after they arrived, Honolulu Fire Capt. Debbi Eleneki said.

The second fire was reported at 5:07 p.m. below Kamananui Road. It, too, was extinguished quickly by an HFD engine company and tanker truck with the help of the engine company from the first brush fire, Eleneki said.

The fire burned about half an acre.
