ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Fraternity fundraiser gives aid

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Help support college-bound seniors at a fundraiser hosted by African-American fraternity Lambda Beta Beta, 10 p.m.-2 a.m. on Jan. 30 at Don Ho's Island Grill. Money raised will support the scholarship fund of the fraternity, a chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Omega Psi Phi is an international fraternity and is the first African-American national fraternal organization to be founded at a historically black college. Lambda Beta Beta, based at Schofield Barracks, has provided college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Honolulu since 1982. The chapter also participates in blood drives, reading programs and mentoring for Hawai'i's youth in elementary, middle and high schools.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. To purchase tickets or to apply for a scholarship, contact Walter Daniel at 392-6405.
