The soupy kona weather that has kept Honolulu socked in a gray haze will stick around until tomorrow, when trade winds and sunnier skies are expected to return, forecasters said yesterday.

The National Weather Service said southerly breezes will continue until a new weather front moves in on Tuesday, shifting winds to the northwest and bringing clearer skies.

By Wednesday, the forecasters said, the winds should shift all the way back to the northeast, bringing the return of cooling, crisp trade winds.

High temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s.
