Diamond Head Road will remain closed until at least Saturday morning, when engineers will assess the hillside where rocks fell onto the roadway Friday afternoon.

The rockfall was reported at 4:11 p.m. Ten to 15 basketball-size rocks fell onto the roadway near the middle lookout. Police no injuries or damage was reported.
The road was closed to vehicle traffic between the first and third lookouts. Pedestrians and bicyclists were allowed into the area.
Police said the state Department of Land and Natural Resources was called to send experts to assess the hillside.
The rockfall happened at a place where officials have placed concrete Jersey barriers along the mauka shoulder of the road.
