Volunteers invited to join community cleanup effort

A community effort to fight drug abuse in Kahalu'u continues this weekend with a cleanup to eliminate potential hangouts for drug users and sellers.

Volunteers are being sought for the project that will last from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday beginning at KEY Project, 47-200 Waihe'e Road.

The Kahalu'u Coalition to Stop Drugs in Our Area is sponsoring the event and will serve refreshments and lunch.

Weedeaters and other equipment to clear brushes and trees are also requested.
