Ala Moana sewer work begins Sunday

Advertiser Staff

Major sewer work will begin on Sunday on Ala Moana Boulevard that could bring delays during evening and early-morning hours.

The $8.9 million project consists of open-cut trench/microtunnel work on 2,700 linear feet of 12- and 16-inch cast iron pipe from Atkinson Drive to Nauru Tower, along with the installation of eight new manholes. The city said the sewer line will be installed on the left-hand lane heading ewa bound on Ala Moana.
Work is expected to be completed in one year.
