Man in Palolo Valley barricade situation taken into custody

Advertiser Staff

A man who barricaded himself in a Palolo Valley home Monday morning has been taken into custody.

Police Capt. Letha De Caires said the man, 46, is being held on three counts of terroristic threatening in the first degree and two counts of abuse of a household member.
Police were called to the home on Waiomao Street about 3:30 a.m. after a family argument, De Caires said.
Three family members were outside the house; the man was alone inside.
HPD’s specialized services team was sent to the house about 5 a.m. and a negotiator made contact with the man.
De Caires said the incident was resolved by 8:30 a.m. and the man was taken into custody without any shots being fired.
