NEW YORK — Miley Cyrus has organized an online auction to benefit the relief effort in Haiti, and Britney Spears, Hugh Jackman, Ellen DeGeneres, Julianne Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Demi Lovato and others will donate items and experiences.

Cyrus is donating several items, including the Herve Leger dress she wore to the 2010 Grammy Awards. Fans can also bid on Spears' 2008 MTV Video Music Awards dress, a set visit to Jackman's new film, Lovato's tour wardrobe and other items when they visit www.ebay.com/miley.

The auction started yesterday and runs through 5 p.m. Hawai'i time Feb. 18. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross.

JUDGE ALLOWS TURBULENT SHEENS TO REUNITE

ASPEN, Colo. — Charlie Sheen and his wife were reunited yesterday after a judge modified a restraining order and allowed them to work out their differences following a Christmas Day dispute in which the actor allegedly pinned his spouse on a bed with a knife to her throat.

The couple hugged in court, and Brooke Mueller Sheen's attorney said they hugged and kissed after the brief hearing. The attorney said he has asked prosecutors to drop the case.

Prosecutors charged TV's "Two and a Half Men" star with felony menacing and misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and criminal mischief. Sheen did not enter a plea yesterday and is due back in court March 15.

BRANGELINA SUES TABLOID OVER FALSE STORY

LONDON — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have begun legal action against a British tabloid that reported the celebrity couple was going to split, a London-based lawyer acting on their behalf confirmed yesterday.

The lawyer said the News of the World had made "false and intrusive allegations" when it reported Jan. 24 that Pitt and Jolie had agreed to separate, to divide assets worth $320 million and had made arrangements regarding the custody of their six children.

COLEMAN CHARGES REDUCED IN PLEA DEAL

SALT LAKE CITY — Former child television star Gary Coleman pleaded guilty yesterday to a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge related to a domestic violence incident last April. Coleman entered the plea on his 42nd birthday.

The original charge of domestic violence assault was dropped. Coleman's attorney said that Coleman and his wife, Shannon Price, had an argument.

Coleman was sentenced to 31 1/4 days in jail. The "Diff'rent Strokes" star will serve the time only if he fails to complete a domestic violence course and pay a $595 fine.
