Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board seeking to fill vacant position

The Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board is looking to fill the remaining term of a vacant position in Subdistrict 8 (Lunalilo Park, Mauka).

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and residents of the subdistrict and will need to serve in the position through next June.

The board will act on the appointment at its Tuesday meeting at 7 p.m. in the Hahaione Elementary School cafeteria.

Eligible residents may e-mail their interest to board chairman Greg Knudsen at knudsen123@gmail.com and must includes their address, phone number, and a statement on their interest to serve and qualifications. Eligible residents may also declare their candidacies at the Tuesday meeting. All subdistrict candidates at the meeting will be asked to briefly speak about their interest and qualifications.

The current 15-member board will select the appointee from among the eligible candidates. A majority of at least eight votes is needed for each appointment.
