UH students warned about night assaults near campus

Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i-Mānoa has issued a security alert warning students about a group of young men reportedly assaulting or harassing people near campus.

The alert said the incidents have happened late at night or early in the morning, and appear to be random.

The alert said the group usually is made up of four to seven men. They appear to be in their late teens to early 20s.

Students are urged to use a "buddy system" when on campus at night and to avoid approaching any groups of young men loitering in the area.

Students should call campus security at 956-6911, or police at 911.
