Jack in the Box announced that is serving a Kona coffee blend for hot and cold drinks at its restaurants nationwide.

Jack in the Box, the hamburger chain with more than 2,200 restaurants in 18 states, said it has begun offering a Kona coffee blend that's brewed for hot and cold coffee drinks.

The restaurant said the Kona blend is available at participating restaurants for $1.39. Its outlets in Hawai'i will continue to serve a Kona specialty blend from Hawaiian Paradise Coffee that's been available since last year.

BANKS LEND HAND TO HAWAII FOODBANK

The Hawaii Bankers Association's member institutions will be collecting canned food and monetary donations through the end of May for the Hawaii Foodbank.

Participating banks include American Savings Bank, Bank of Hawaii, Bank of the Orient, Central Pacific Bank, Finance Factors, First Hawaiian Bank, Hawaii National Bank, HomeStreet Bank, Pacific Rim Bank and Territorial Savings Bank. It is the third year HBA has participated in the drive.

Last year the HBA member banks collected 33,000 pounds of food and $35,500 for the Hawaii Foodbank.

HAWAIIAN AIRLINES, UNION REACH DEAL

About 600 Hawaiian Airlines employees who are members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District 142, have ratified a new four-year contract, the company and the union announced yesterday.

The contract covers aircraft inspectors, mechanics, line service, cleaners and contract service personnel.
