Divers warned after 800-gallon sewage leak

Advertiser Staff

An estimated 800 gallons of sewage from a broken water main poured into a storm drain at Merry Point and divers were advised to stay out of the waters around Pearl Harbor.

The break occurred Saturday in a 16-inch force main, according to the state's Department of Health Clean Water Branch.

Signs were posted over the weekend advising military and private commercial divers to stay out of the water.
