Police report that a man from the Mainland died while hiking on a trail in Makiki on Saturday. The call came in at 3:07 p.m. The man was with friends, other visitors from the Mainland, who called authorities when he collapsed. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police said the man appeared to be in his 50s. The Medical Examiner's office had not released his identity Sunday morning.
