Ricketts, Rainbow Wahine stop Louisiana Tech, 3-1

Stephanie Ricketts pitched a six-hitter and matched her UH career high with 11 strikeouts, and Jenna Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to lift Hawai'i to a 3-1 victory over Louisiana Tech tonight in a Western Athletic Conference game at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Hawai'i is 34-11 and 12-0 in the WAC. Louisiana Tech is 20-13 and 6-4.

Rodriguez hit her two-run homer in the first inning off LaTech's Meghan Kreig, also scoring Kelly Majam, who had walked. It was the Rainbow Wahine's 107th home run of the season, adding to their school record.

UH scored its third run in the third inning when Alexandra Aguirre was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring pinch runner Rachel Paragas.

Ricketts (18-6, 9-0 WAC), who didn't walk a batter, gave up a one-out home run in the seventh to Molly Goza.
