Anne Namba's latest collection, Fashion in Motion, is inspired by acclaimed dancer, actor and choreographer Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Namba met Baryshnikov when he was in Honolulu last November for a Ballet Hawaii dance concert. "He invited me to present a show at Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York. So I created a new collection in his honor that has a fluid feel and look," Namba said in a press release.

The collection will be introduced to Honolulu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 18 at the Halekulani, with a brunch and fashion show to benefit Ballet Hawaii. Namba's designs will be complemented with a line of fashion jewelry created by Anna Meng, owner of The Meng Dynasty.

Ballet and ballroom dancers will model, as well as perform dance vignettes during the show.

Tickets are $100. Reservations: Judy Muncaster, judy@ballethawaii.org or 521-8600.
