A report that contained confidential information on about 4,500 students at Chaminade University was inadvertently posted on the school's Web site, the school reported yesterday.

The information included Social Security numbers of students and was discovered on Wednesday, the school said in a press release. The report was on obscure, although publicly accessible, Web pages, the school said.

The students affected attended the university as undergraduates from 1997 to 2006, the school said.

University officials said an investigation determined that human error was responsible for the posting. For more information, go to www.chaminade.edu/infosecure.
