Local fundraising efforts for Philippine typhoon relief have so far collected more than $100,000, Filipino Community Center president Toy Arre said in a news release from the Philippine consulate general.

Initial donations of $40,000 have already been forwarded to Caritas Manila and the Consuelo Foundation in the Philippines to help flood victims in Pangasinan, Bulacan, Pampanga and Baguio, Arre said.
