AMERICAN SAVINGS HOME LOANS

American Savings Bank has announced the formation of a new mortgage lending division, American Savings Home Loans. Hired to lead the group are ASB's Jon Whittington as president and Allison Yasui as senior vice president of operations.

A certified mortgage banker, Whittington was previously with Central Pacific HomeLoans Inc. and Countrywide Home Loans Inc.

Yasui was previously with Countrywide Home Loans, Bank of Hawaii, Bank of America Hawaii and Honolulu Mortgage.

SYNGENTA HAWAII

Syngenta Hawaii, an agri-business committed to sustainable agriculture through innovative research and technology, has appointed Laurie Goodwin as its local outreach manager.

Goodwin joined Syngenta in 2004 as a market development agronomist. She has been in the seed and agriculture industry for 10 years.

CADES SCHUTTE

Jodene Arakaki has rejoined Cades Schutte as an associate. She was previously a rules specialist with the state Department of Taxation.

KONA BREWERS FESTIVAL

The Kona Brewers Festival has appointed Kate Jacobson as its executive director. Jacobson has served on various nonprofit and government boards and committees, most recently as capital campaign director/community liaison for Innovations Public Charter School in Kailua, Kona.

DTRIC INSURANCE

DTRIC Insurance recently announced key appointments:

Scott Mackey to the position of vice president and chief underwriting officer; Cindy Sasaki to senior accountant and Laurie Tsuhako to treasurer.

HOMESTREET BANK

Richard Abe has joined HomeStreet Bank as a residential loan officer. Abe will be based in the Honolulu home loan center at 1221 Kapi'olani Blvd.

The American Payroll Association's Hawaii Chapter recently announced its new board members. They are:
