A 40-year-old Lualualei man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of weapons and other charges after a handgun allegedly fell out of his clothing while he was scuffling with a police officer Saturday night.

Patrol officers were sent about 8 p.m. to a home on Hookele Street in response to a report of an argument involving a handgun.
When they arrived on the scene, the saw two men arguing and were told by witnesses that one of the men had threatened the other first with an ax, and then a handgun.
One of the officers approached the man who was said to have threatened the other man and began scuffling with him when a handgun fell to the ground.
After gaining control of the suspect, the officer attempted to recover the handgun but it was nowhere to be found.
Several witness told police the suspect’s girlfriend picked up the gun and took it inside a residence while the officer was trying to gain control of the suspect.
The man with whom the officer was scuffling was arrested suspicion of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, one count of harassing a law enforcement officer and one count of failing to properly store a firearm.
