A man is in critical condition yesterday afternoon after a motorcycle accident on Papipi Road in Ewa Beach.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Papipi Road near Laukona Loop.

HFD Capt. Earle Kealoha said when emergency crews arrived they found the unidentified man lying in the road. He was believed to be in his 30s.

Kealoha said it was not obvious which way the motorcycle was headed, and witnesses said the man may have swerved to avoid a car coming out of a side street.

Rescue crews did not know if the man had been wearing a helmet.

Ambulance crews took him to The Queen's Medical Center where police said he was in critical condition.
