You may have seen dinosaurs at Bishop Museum before, but the “Dinosaurs Unearthed” exhibit opening today isn’t the same old thing.

Actually, the dinosaur skeletons and fossils in the traveling exhibit are very, very old, but the animatronic dinosaurs aren’t (check out the juvenile Tyrannosaurus rex that reflects recent theories about some dinosaurs being feathered). And this is a big exhibit size-wise — two of the pieces are so huge they have to be displayed outdoors instead of with the rest of the exhibit in the Castle Memorial Building.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based traveling exhibit runs through Jan. 4.
For more information, visit www.bishopmuseum.org or call 847-3511. General admission is $15.95 ($8.95 for kamaçäina and military) with discounts for children and seniors.
