ATLANTA — Shane Victorino's return to the Philadelphia Phillies' lineup lasted less than an inning.

The All-Star center fielder, who missed one start with flulike symptoms, was ejected from Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves for arguing a call at second base.

Victorino, a St. Anthony alum from Maui, singled with one out before trying to steal second base. Second base umpire Chad Fairchild said Victorino was out on the throw from catcher David Ross to shortstop Omar Infante.

Victorino threw down his helmet and was ejected for continuing to argue as Fairchild began to walk away.

Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz was out of the lineup for a second consecutive game after he sprained his left wrist Friday night. Paul Bako was Philadelphia's starting catcher.

The Braves were missing two starters: first baseman Adam LaRoche (sore back) and shortstop Yunel Escobar (bruised elbow). Martin Prado started at first base with Brooks Conrad at second base and Infante at shortstop.
