Ku'au Rockin' Surf contest postponed

Due to this weekend’s weather conditions, the Ku‘au Rockin’ Surf Competition, held at Pyramid Rock on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, has been postponed.

The event will go into its holding period and will be held next Saturday, surf and weather permitting.
The two-day event starts at 7 a.m. and runs to 4 p.m. and the public is welcome to enter the competition. Holding period extends until Oct. 11, 2009.

Participants can enter in the men’s shortboard or women’s shortboard divisions and/or the longboard division. Cost to enter one division for civilians is $30, active duty military $20. Add $10 if entering a second division. Entry fee also includes a commemorative t-shirt.

Prizes to the winners in each division provided by GNC, Local Motion, Maui Longboards, Planet Sun, Town & Country and Xcel.
