Lihue pedestrian struck in marked crosswalk

KAPA‘A – A 60-year-old Lihu'e woman was struck Saturday night while crossing Kuhio Highway in Kapa‘a.

The woman sustained nonlife-threatening injuries. She was taken to Wilcox Hospital and was treated and released.

According to a preliminary report, the Lihu'e woman was in a marked crosswalk on Kuhio Highway at around 10:52 p.m. and was heading towards Eastside Bar & Grill when she was struck by a 52-year-old female motorist of Kapa‘a, who was making a right turn onto the highway from Kukui Street.
