A 33-year-old Kalihi man was arrested yesterday evening after a woman told police her ex-boyfriend slapped and choked her until she was nearly unconscious.

The woman, 25, said the man came to her home in Kalihi about 6:30 p.m. and questioned her about “being out partying with her friends,” police said.
An argument ensued and the ex-boyfriend slapped and choked her, the woman said.
She was taken to a hospital after the former boyfriend left.
Police were contacted and the man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of abuse of a family or household member.
