Permit applications available for Lanai deer hunting season

Permit applications for the 2010 Länaçi Axis deer hunting season are available from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, the department announced.
Deer hunting season will run from Feb. 20 through May 15.

The season will be conducted in three phases:
• The Archery Only Hunt will be over eight consecutive days from Feb. 20 through Feb. 27.
• The Muzzleloading Hunt will be on two consecutive Saturdays, March 6 and March 13.
• The General Rifle Hunt will be over nine consecutive Saturdays, beginning March 20 and ending May 15.
Permit applications are available at DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife offices on all islands. Applications for all hunts must be submitted in person, or mailed to Maui Division of Forestry and Wildlife, 54 S. High St., Room 101, Wailuku, HI 96793.
Länaçi residents may mail or deliver their applications to the Länaçi Division of Forestry and Wildlife, 917 Fraser Ave., P.O. Box 630661, Länaçi City, HI 96763.
The deadline to submit applications is Dec. 4 at 4 p.m.
