Olympics: Thomas Cook becomes sponsor of 2012 London Games

Associated Press

LONDON — Thomas Cook has become the 23rd domestic sponsor of the 2012 London Olympics.

London organizers said Tuesday the travel company will provide holiday break packages in the U.K., including accommodation, transport and event tickets for the Olympics and Paralympics. The packages will go on sale in 2011.
The organizing committee estimates that more than 250,000 ticket packages will be sold by Thomas Cook.
Thomas Cook becomes London’s sixth second-tier sponsor. While the value of the deal wasn’t announced, it is believed to be worth $32 million.
London also has six top-tier sponsors and 11 third-level partners.
Organizers have raised close to $985 million in domestic sponsorship revenues.
