Salvation Army kicking off red kettle campaign
The Salvation Army's annual bell-ringing campaign begins at noon today at Tamarind Park on Bishop Square with Gov. Linda Lingle, Lt. Gov. James "Duke" Aiona and Mayor Mufi Hannemann making the first donations to the Salvation Army's red kettles.
They will then help solicit donations by ringing bells at the corner of Bishop and King streets.
The event will feature a program hosted by Jeff Apaka that will include the Royal Hawaiian Band.
