Share Your Table, the culinary Web site, will host chef demonstrations at The Advertiser's "Think Global, Live Local" event at Whole Foods Market in Kahala Mall 1 to 5 p.m. May 30.

Share Your Table, among the partners in this promotion, is also sponsoring a contest, the prize for which will be a private lunch and cooking lesson with chef Roy Yamaguchi at the Sub-Zero Wolf showroom in Honolulu, date to be mutually determined. To enter this contest, go to www.shareyourtable.com and correctly answer the question "On what island is Ho Farms located?" Ho Farms is a member of the state Department of Agriculture Seal of Quality program, another partner in the "Think Global, Live Local" event. Seal of Quality members are farmers and food producers whose products are grown or made in Hawai'i and meet certain quality standards.

Share Your Table is an online resource for eating and buying local in Hawai'i. There, you'll find an array of instructional cooking videos, field trips to local farms and purveyors. Culinary experts share recipes and provide insight on local food traditions. Said founder Melanie Kosaka, "Share Your Table is glad to host the cooking demonstrations as part of our ongoing commitment to promoting local agriculture and getting families back in the kitchen."

"Think Global, Live Local" will be held in the courtyard in front of the Whole Foods Market with displays and cooking stations. The chefs to appear will use products from Seal of Quality members, and quite a few farmers and food producers are expected to attend and show off their wares.
