Small 3.0 quake is latest to rumble across Big Isle

A small earthquake rumbled across the Big Island yesterday morning, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Center assigned a magnitude of 3.0 to the latest temblor, which was recorded at 2:19 a.m.

The epicenter was about 10 miles north-northwest of Na'alehu.

A total of 18 small to moderate earthquakes have been recorded on the Big Island during the past week, ranging in magnitude from 1.7 to 4.0.

Almost all of them have gone virtually unnoticed.
