Gasco, which has 35,000 customers statewide, said the state Public Utilities Commission approved an interim rate increase that will go into effect Thursday.
The typical customers on Oçahu will see their rates increase $7.67 a month, or 13.9 percent, to $62.87 under the plan. Customers on Maui will see their rates go up 9.1 percent while Big Island customers will get a 7.4 percent rate hike.
