City announces repaving plans for two major thoroughfares

The city has announced it is gearing up to repave two major thoroughfares — Keolu Drive in Kailua and Ala Wai Boulevard in Waikïkï.

The rehabilitation of Keolu Drive will stretch from Wanaao Road to Kalanianaole Highway. The project costs $6.9 million.
Meanwhile, Ala Wai Boulevard will be repaved from Kanekapolei Street to Kalakaua Avenue. The work will cost $2.1 million.
The start dates for both projects have not yet been announced.
The city said the work will include resurfacing the roadways, adjusting manhole covers and reconstructing curbs and sidewalks.
