Manoa Public Library to close in July to make way for new library building

Advertiser Staff

Mänoa Public Library will close July 2 to make way for the construction of a new library.

Work is expected to take two years to complete.
While construction is underway, residents will be able to check out books from an interim library to be housed in two portables at Noelani Elementary School. The interim library will open Aug. 3. Until the interim library is open, library users can pick up reserved materials at McCully-Moçiliçili Public Library.
Mänoa Public Library, located at 2716 Woodlawn Dr., was built more than 40 years ago.
The new library will double the area used for library materials and provide twice the number of parking stalls.
The $10.3 million project will also provide space for a children’s room, meeting room and staff work area.
For more information, call Mänoa Public Library at 988-0459.
