MLB: Astros reliever Wright taken to hospital

Associated Press

CHICAGO — Astros reliever Wesley Wright was diagnosed with dehydration after being rushed to the hospital following Houston’s 11-6 win over the Chicago Cubs.

In a statement early Wednesday, the Astros said the symptoms are similar to those of an appendicitis. His ailment was initially described as discomfort around his appendix.
Wright was called on to pitch with two outs in the second inning Tuesday night after Astros ace Roy Oswalt strained his back.
The Astros said Wright was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital, but was expected to be discharged Wednesday.
Wright got his first big league hit in the third inning. He gave up three runs in 2 1-3 innings, walking five and allowing one hit.
