WAILUA – Kuhio Highway in Wailua has been reopened. The roadway was closed shortly after a serious two-car accident at 11:06 a.m. today across from Kaua'i Community Correctional Center.

Southbound traffic had been rerouted to the Wailua bypass road, while motorists heading north were diverted to the Wailua Golf Course utility road.

Multiple injuries were reported.
