Lions usher in Year of the Ox at UH-Manoa

University of Hawai'i-Manoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw fed a dancing lion a traditional red envelope filled with money today to bring good luck in the Year of the Ox. Members of the Gee Yung Dragon & Lion Dance Association were on the Manoa campus to usher in the lunar new year with a performance at Hawai'i Hall.

The University of Hawai'i-Manoa ushered in the Year of the Ox today with a performance by members of the Gee Yung Dragon & Lion Dance Association.

More than 40 youngsters from the on-campus Children's Center watched the dance on the lawn at Hawai'i Hall.

UH-Manoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw fed the lions traditional red envelopes filled with money to ensure the bringing of good luck.
