DENVER — Carmelo Anthony could barely put on his socks and struggled to fasten his watch.

Tying his shoes? No way.

Anthony scored 21 points and set a season-high with nine assists despite injuring his right hand in the third quarter of the Denver Nuggets' 135-115 win over the Indiana Pacers last night.

The All-Star forward is headed off to a specialist today for further evaluation. The team, which described the injury as a "probable" fracture, said it doesn't know how much time the star will miss.

"It's sore and stiff right now," Anthony said.

Anthony said the injury occurred when Jeff Foster tried to slap the ball out of his hand early in the third quarter.

The hand bothered him so much that he drew nothing but air on a free-throw attempt, the memory bringing a pained smile to his face.

"Out there, I didn't have any feel whatsoever," he said.

Anthony also missed three games last month with a bruised right elbow.

Now this. His dinged-up hand marred the Nuggets' fourth win in a row.

"Hopefully, we get some good news on it tomorrow," said Chauncey Billups, who scored 13 of his 24 points in the final quarter.

Nets 98, Kings 90: Vince Carter scored 29 points, Yi Jianlian added 22 points and a season-high 13 rebounds and New Jersey handed Sacramento its 11th straight road loss.

Spurs 91, Heat 84: Tim Duncan had 19 points and nine rebounds as visiting San Antonio beat Miami for its third straight victory.

Bucks 107, Raptors 97: Michael Redd had a season-high 35 points and Charlie Villanueva scored 13 of his 25 in the fourth quarter, leading host Milwaukee over Toronto.

Jazz 119, Warriors 114: Deron Williams had 25 points and 15 assists and Ronnie Brewer scored seven crucial points down the stretch as host Utah held off Golden State.

Suns: Guard Jason Richardson is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol in an American Indian tribal community in metropolitan Phoenix. A citation filed in court says the player was stopped by a Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community police officer in the early morning of Dec. 21.

Lakers: Forward Luke Walton will be sidelined for at least two weeks by a foot injury. Walton, who started 11 consecutive games before missing Sunday's 100-86 win over Portland, has sesamoiditis in his right foot and will wear a protective boot for a week, the team said yesterday.

Law and Order: Former NBA player Antoine Walker was charged with suspicion of drunk driving in Miami Beach early yesterday morning. Walker was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over at 5:39 a.m., according to the arrest report.
