LOS ANGELES — Ed McMahon, former sidekick to Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" and a familiar TV ad pitchman, has been hospitalized in intensive care, a spokesman said yesterday.

McMahon, 85, is suffering from pneumonia and other ailments and has been in the hospital for several weeks, a spokesman said. He would not identify the Los Angeles facility or the other illnesses.

McMahon's wife and family are with him and appreciate the public expressions of concern, the spokesman said.

McMahon, who broke his neck in a fall in 2007, faced foreclosure on his home last year because, he said, the injury left him unable to work. But a deal was announced in December that would allow him to stay in the house.

NEW YORK — New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen are reported to have married in a private ceremony.

They got hitched Thursday at a Catholic Church in Santa Monica, Calif., according to the magazines Us Weekly and People, which quoted anonymous sources.

In attendance were immediate family, including Brady's 18-month-old son with former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

The 31-year-old Brady and 28-year-old Bundchen have been dating for three years. This is the first marriage for both.

SIMMONS HAPPY TO SUPPORT KIDS

NEW YORK — Russell Simmons says he's happy to fork over $40,000 a month in child support for his two daughters.

Simmons blogged yesterday about a Thursday court order that finalized custodial and financial arrangements for 9-year-old Ming and 6-year-old Aoki, his children with ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons.

A Los Angeles judge signed off on an agreement giving sole custody to his ex-wife. Simmons is to pay $40,000 a month until the girls are 19 1/2 years old, but he says his kids have a fabulous life and he's happy to contribute to it. He says in his www.globalgrind.com blog that as long as he has money, they will have money.

LOPEZ, ANTHONY SUE PRAM MAKER

LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have filed a federal lawsuit against a maker of high-end baby carriages over unauthorized use of their images.

The couple filed suit Wednesday against Silver Cross, saying use of their images on its Web site to market the carriages has caused irreparable damage to their public images. They also maintain there's harm to Lopez's production company and to her product and apparel lines.

The couple say they have suffered damages in excess of $5 million, which they are seeking in addition to injunctions against Silver Cross.
