Bank collecting dresses for domestic violence center sale

Advertiser Staff

American Savings Bank will be collecting new or gently used prom dresses and formal or semi-formal dresses tomorrow for the Domestic Violence Action Center's annual "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" prom dress sale.

Under its "First Saturday" program, all American Savings branches statewide that are open on Saturdays – 48 of its 61 total branches – serve as collection points for donated items for a designated non-profit organization. February's program benefits the Domestic Violence Action Center with collections being accepted tomorrow.

The Domestic Violence Action Center is the only agency in the state that accepts large numbers of high-risk divorce, temporary restraining order, post-decree, and paternity cases. It serves victims of domestic violence through a comprehensive array of services that include legal services and advocacy for victims, civil and criminal court outreach, education about dating violence, professional training, public education, employer training, advocacy for teen victims, and technical assistance to the public and private sector.
