Military air exercises to be held today, tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

Hawaii Air National Guard F-15 Eagles, U.S. Coast Guard H-65 Dolphin helicopters and Civil Air Patrol Cessnas will fly together off the north coast of Käne'ohe Bay today and tomorrow as part of joint exercises, the Air Force announced.

The exercises are intended to improve coordination between the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration and Department of Homeland Security, the Air Force said.

The exercises come on the eve of an expected Christmas vacation by President Obama and his family, which could begin on Wednesday, depending on progress in Washington, D.C., on a national health care bill.
